The Slope Briefing

All Parra’s slopes are covered with cannon snow and they are maintained daily with the slope machine, ”the snow cat”.

There is a half-meter mattress of cannon snow on the slopes. Cannon snow is much denser than natural snow – half a meter of cannon snow corresponds to about a 2.5 meter layer of natural snow.

Cannon snow is very resistant to rain, so warm weather or rain will not prevent you from skiing!

The slope surface can be somewhat soft, especially at several plus degrees, but even then the skiing is smooth because the compact snow layer cools from below. Since the slopes are prepared daily with a slope machine, they don’t become icy either.

There are now a total of seven larger rails in the snowparks – three on Easy, ’Loiva’ and four on Steep, ’Jyrkkä’. The large jump has a ”nose”. There are also two smaller practice jumps on the ’Loiva’ slope. For the very little ones, there is a mini rail and a mini jump on the Little Slope.

The Sled Hill is also covered with cannon snow, and is taken care of by the snow cat, just like the slopes.

Welcome to the slopes!

The cross-country ski trails are maintained by the municipality of Teuva. You can see the current condition of the trails on the Ulkoilukaveri-service (in Finnish).
