Ski Lessons for Children
When to take Lessons for a Child?
Interested in skiing or snowboarding – how can a Ski Instructer help you get started?
Why are Ski Lessons important?
If the child is familiar with cross-country skiing or ice skating, might learning to use alpine skis seem easy. However, sometimes learning by yourself can lead to a situation, where using the brakes remains a mystery as the new speed is too fascinating.
There are also certain rules on the slopes, that should be learned – with a instructor or by yourself.
Using an anchor lift can feel scary at first, but with the help of a fellow skier, we can make sure that the learning is easy and safe.

Interested in snowboarding?
Snowboarding – well that’s a whole another thing. Learning to enjoy it is not any easier for a former skier or even a skateboarder – that’s why we recommend that it should always be tried with the help of a capable snowboarder first.
If you would like to learn snowboarding, we advice you to book a lesson, unless you already have someone to guide you through the start!
At what age is the child ready for Ski School?
Naturally it depends on the child, but a brave and sporty three-year-old can already do well with their own Ski Instructor.
Skiing requires a certain amount of physical strength, especially on the legs. Sometimes it’s better to keep enjoying the feeling of the snow on the sled hill for a while longer – before stepping onto the alpine skis!
The shortest alpine skies in our Rental Shop are fit for a skier 100 cm in height. Our tiniest snowboard can be used by children about 110 or 120 centimeters tall.

What kind of equipment can best support your learning?
When learning, it is important that the skis or the snowboard isn’t too long – in Ski School it should be about 30 cm shorter that the participant themselves, so that it doesn’t reach their chin.
We advice you to use the specially priced set for Ski School participants – even if you have own equipment.
In our Rental Shop we make sure you get the best equipment for you. We will also help you with all adjustments needed.
Arriving to a Ski Lesson
When coming to a booked lesson, it should always be the first event of the day!
Trying the snow without the instructor first can lead to negative experiences, and steal all the enthusiasm.
This is especially true when it comes to snowboarding!

How we proceed in our Lessons?
The guidance begins on the flat, and practices lead us to the Little Slope and the rope lift on the side of it.
The lesson always proceeds at the pace of its participants. Sometimes we reach the bigger slopes during the first lesson, but more often it’s better to stay on the Little Slope, especially with the smallest helmet heads.
A Tip – we don’t recommend reserving more than one lesson in a row. It’s good to digest what has been learned for a while first!
